I decided to quiet this thing down and get some better cooling. I bought the SilentTower heat pipe from Thermaltake, but the brackets didn't work with my motherboard, so I traded it for a SilentBoost A1889 from Thermaltake. The fan is silent and my CPU dropped 8-10 degrees down to 52 degrees idle, 54 with load. I replaced a mirror that was removed to compensate for the CoolerMaster Cool Drive4 LCD fan controller and temperature monitor. I replaced the tri-colour side fan with an Antec tri-colour fan. The original fan was a 4-pin connector, I needed a 3 pin connector so I get to control the fan rpms. I re-wired the pc, the original setup was done a little fast and there were some cable messes that I had to clean up. Plus all these temperature sensors, additional fans, lights, and devices generate a butt load of wires. With all these changes, the pc is still not as quiet as I wished, so today I am going to hunt the noise sources and see if I can surpress some of it. I still have some noise dampening material from my car audio days I can use too. Basically, I want my pc seen but not heard......
