So headed down to Montreal nice and early... got a change to go to Peel Pub for a couple beers, which I never get time to do usually.
We get in and check our seats out... 3 Inches of Blood start the show, they sounded like King Diamond / Judas Priest sort of, the heavy riffs with high pitched singing, but they sucked reeally bad. Could be my taste, but they sucked.
Trivium were very cool! They opened with Kirisute Gomen, and sounded great. My only complaint with the sound is the vocals were a little low. The bass was incredible, during the set, there would be the insane BOOM bass hit that would shake everything.. whatever it was, I want one for home! Trivium set was a little short, most likely since it was a triple bill, and their songs are kinda long. Having 2 singers, going back and forth got hard to follow, and they had so much energy on the stage, they never slowed down. It was actually Travis Smith's birthday (drummer), so the band got the whole Bell Centre to sing to him... that was pretty cool!
Slipknot hit the stage in full force celebrating their 10th anniversary! They played a great setlist, but did not play Heretic Song... Clown had drum riser with an LCD screen that raised and spun... on the stage. Corey Taylor was very entertaining, and spoke to the crowd in between each song to get us pumped. At the end of the show, he said Montreal is where the Spit it Out part where the crowd sits down started in Montreal 10 years ago... and on queue, the whole crowd got down without hesitating and without Corey saying anything! When we all Jumped up... Joey the drummer lifted up and spun sideways for the grande finale.
It was a great show, just as good as the other 2 times I have seen them, and looking forward to seeing them again!
