Christmas 2005

Christmas 2005 was our first Christmas together. After much debate about whether to get a  real or fake tree...Scrooge got his way and we settled on a PLASTIC tree and pine scented air fresheners. Then the GRINCH got inspired by National Lampoons Christmas, and came home one night with enough Christmas lights to light up the block! Oh, and don't let me forget the icing on the cake...a reindeer made of more lights for the front lawn.

Now let me get to the gift giving, which I thought should have started a good 3 weeks before Christmas. Jeff tortured me by wrapping gifts and leaving them in view to drive me nuts. I don't think an hour went by that I wasn't trying to negotiate a present trade so that I could open one of my gifts! Well after about 2 weeks, Jeff cracked and let me open a gift. Not just any gift, but a Nintendo Game Cube, with bongos and all. I still think he had his own motive behind that!

Now Christmas... Well it involved a lot of driving! We drove out to the country Christmas eve to have dinner with my family....then drove home. We had a few smooches, then went to bed because we had to be back out to the country to open gifts with my family at 6:30am. My sister made Jeff promise to be there that damn early! Well my sister didn't think he would follow through, but sure enough, Christmas day we were up at 5:15am to be out the door by 5:45am...drive through the fresh snow (because there was almost a blizzard the night before) and we made it there at exactly 6:28. We opened gifts, then went back home to open the gifts from eachother..including my IPod Video, and then headed back over to my family's house for dinner.
